Identidad Madidi LOWER FOOTHILL FOREST (ALTO MADIDI)

Piedmont forests are considered to be the most diverse, dense and highest forests, as they are the product of a mixture of elements from the mountain ranges and ancient alluvial terraces. They are characterized by layers of undergrowth, canopy and large, emergent plants with a diversity of fruit.

The Upper Madidi forest is home to an abundance of vines, hemi-epiphytes and a diverse variety of palm species.
