Characterized by moderate to high slopes and well-defined vegetative strata, this forest has small to medium and some large trees that can exceed 20 meters (about 65 feet). The complexity of these forests is expressed by the presence of distinctive types of vegetation: for example forests dominated by palms and tree ferns, or forests with stands of incense.
