I. Background:
In the past few years, WCS and the Asian Turtle Program (ATP) under Indo-Myanmar Conservation conducted intensive interview surveys in lakes of Suoi Hai, Ha Noi (Lat. 21.153097, Long. 105.389841, area: ~1,200 square ha), Yen Lap, Quang Ninh province (Lat. 20.995403, Long. 106.922226, area: ~1,300 square ha) to identify more Rafetus Swinhoei (the Yangtze giant softshell turtle) individuals. In the past few years, the team extended the effort to investigate the Hieu River in Nghe An, e.g., Song Sao lake, Nghĩa Lam and Nghia Son Commune, Nghia Dan district (Lat. 19 23 14.2; Long. 105 28 59.6; area: ~1,100 square ha) and Khe Da lake in Nghia Duc commune, Nghia Dan District, Nghe An province (Lat. 19 13 41.4; Long. 105 20 43.9; area: ~270 square ha). Both lakes belong to the TH True milk group who allow a group of 15 and 6 fishermen to fish on each lake respectively.
In the current award, we are seeking two independent experts to support our field team in appling drones to search for additional R Swinhoei individuals at Suoi Hai lake (Ha Noi), Yen Lap lake (Quang Ninh), Song Sao Lake and Khe Da lakes (Nghe An).
II. Objectives:
In collaboration with WCS’s field team to deploy drones and collect images in four listed lakes to verify R. Swinhoei’s occurrence and distribution in the four lakes.

Advance will be made before each trip and final clearance will be done 15 days (about 2 weeks) after the approval of submitted final invoices.
Total allotted time (total working days): The suggested numbers of working days, including travel time, is subject to change in line with other member of the field team, field weather conditions and resources available (approximately 7 days per lake)
