A day dominated by rodents. Camp was awoken by the pre-dawn capture of a bicolor-spined porcupine (Coendou bicolor), which was photographed and released in the late afternoon after a long sleep. Three species of mice were added to the list, including a larger grassland Oxymycterus species and an Oligorizomys mouse. The ichthyologists returned from a section of the Machariapo River in the park with four new fish species taking the total for the trip to nine species of fish.
