WCS partners with local communities to empower them to sustainably manage their marine resources. In addition, we provide support to sustainable livelihood initiatives, including assistance in developing community ecotourism ventures, such as viewing nesting leatherback turtles. We provide support to community groups to develop business plans and have supported infrastructure for tourism and protected area management (e.g., ranger shelters).
