To commemorate International Jaguar Day on Sunday, November 29^th, WCS is announcing a webinar of top jaguar experts to discuss conservation opportunities and threats facing the Americas only big cat species. 

A new initiative involving 20 of the world’s leading conservation organisations, including the Wildlife Conservation Society, today issued an unprecedented joint declaration to the G20 calling for urgent action to invest in nature to protect biodiversity, reduce the risk of future pandemics, and safeguard the long-term well-being and security of current and future human generations.

WCS Ecuador, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Water of Ecuador (MAAE), published the "Manual for the implementation of a tool to strengthen the control and surveillance in Protected Areas," which will be distributed among the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP) personnel.

WCS has created a powerful 30-second PSA, narrated by award-winning actress, director and artist Lucy Liu, to raise awareness and spark action to advance legislation to prevent future pandemics. 

WCS will hold a virtual press conference following a two-day event held in conjunction with the German Federal Foreign Office: “One Planet, One Health, One Future: Moving Forward in a Post COVID-19 World.” 

A new study co-led by Sangeeta Mangubhai, Director of WCS’s Fiji Program, examines an emerging issue in fisheries management: gender inclusion and equality.
