Using systematic conservation planning methods, we identified priority watersheds for the conservation of freshwater fish biodiversity in the Arctic Ocean drainage basin in Ontario, Canada. Due to limited data in this remote, boreal landscape we created fish species distribution models compiled from multiple data sources to fill in monitoring gaps; and we evaluated trade-offs between probability of freshwater species occurrence, watershed connectivity and an index of human development pressures.
