From August 30 to September 01, 2022, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) - Viet Nam Program in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh city Prosecutors professional training school (HPS) hosted a training course on open-source intelligence (OSINT) for investigators and prosecutors. The training is implemented within the framework of the project "Building Cooperation to Combat Wildlife Trafficking between Africa and Asia'' funded by the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), United States Department of State.

More than 30 participants who are investigators from the Investigating Agency of the Supreme People's Procuracy and prosecutors from key locations for IWT, such as Da Nang city, Ho Chi Minh city, Tay Ninh, Quang Binh, Binh Phuoc, Kien Giang; representatives of the Environmental Police Department – Ministry of Public Security, Forest Protection Department – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; and some trainers of the HPS joined the training course. The training was facilitated by two OSINT experts from UK-based AML Consulting (Global) Company, and guest speakers from the Supreme People’s Procuracy and HPS.

Through the training, participants were provided with methods and techniques for searching, collecting, verifying, analyzing and presenting information collected from open sources that can be used as evidence in the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases; especially those related to wildlife.
