On August 16, 2022, in the implementation of the Viet Nam One Health Partnership for Zoonoses framework signed on March 23, 2022 between three ministries and 29 partners, as a signing member of the One Health partnership framework for zoonoses, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), Viet Nam Program has supported the One Health Partnership Secretariat to organize the annual high-level policy forum 2022. The forum was organized to discuss policy issues among partners and stakeholders on seven focus areas of One Health Partnership.

At the forum, participants have discussed on reducing the risk of pathogens rising and spreading among the human-wildlife-ecosystem interface; strengthen food safety management; monitoring and preventing antibiotic resistance; recovery and management of emerging and re-emerging diseases; management of environmental factors affecting human, animal and plant health; and mobilize resources to implement the focus areas. Many opinions at the forum also suggested developing a multi-sectoral roadmap for policy and legal reform aimed at preventing and mitigating the risks of outbreaks of zoonotic diseases, especially those from wildlife supply chains.

Through the forum, Viet Nam committed to fulfill our international obligations within the framework of the global health security program and in the activities and areas of the One Health Partnership to prevent diseases from animals to humans.
