The WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Queens Zoo will celebrate spring throughout Eggstravaganza weekend, Saturday & Sunday, April 4 & 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Less than 5 percent of studies consider ecosystem processes
• Residential development covers one out of every four acres of land in the United States; predicted to more than double by 2100

 Globally, residential development is a leading driver of natural resource consumption, native species decline and fossil fuel emissions.

The Wildlife Conservation Society has won Swiss Re Foundation’s prestigious International ReSource Award for Sustainable Watershed Management for its efforts to protect and restore the headwaters of Brazil’s Pantanal, one of the world’s largest tropical wetlands.

Bronx, N.Y. – March 17, 2015 – The 2015 WCS Run for the Wild is scheduled for Saturday, April 25. Runners, walkers, and wildlife supporters are invited to participate in the annual 5K race and family fun run/walk at the Bronx Zoo.

The World Economic Forum has selected Dr. Krithi K. Karanth, an Associate Conservation Scientist with the Wildlife Conservation Society, as a 2015 Young Global Leader (YGL). The prestigious honour was announced today and recognizes Dr. Karanth as one of 187 distinguished leaders below the age of 40 from around the world.
