April 8, 2015 – WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) New York Aquarium will host a Mother’s Day family program called “All About Otter Moms” on Sunday, May 10 at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and from 2 to 3 p.m. The program is free with aquarium admission.

May 7, 2015 - Inaoyom Imong of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Nigeria Program has won a prestigious Whitley Award for his work in protecting the Cross River gorilla, Africa’s most endangered great ape. 

WCS has worked for 12 decades with diverse partners to save wildlife and wild places. On the occasion of our 120th anniversary a new historical publication, 120 Years: A Conservation Legacy, tracks the narrative of how WCS harnessed the strength of its zoos and aquarium, along with its science-driven global conservation program, to safeguard increasingly threatened biodiversity around the globe.

May 6, 2015 - To fence or not to fence? That is the question facing conservationists concerned with barriers that keep wildlife in and people out.  

Lafaza and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) today announced the launch of a new partnership to work with communities to expand environmentally sustainable vanilla and clove production around the Makira Natural Park in Madagascar’s northeast. The partnership will support more than 1,900 households to produce high-quality vanilla and cloves that will be destined for international buyers in the United States and abroad.

Demand for seafood from wild fisheries and aquaculture around the world has nearly doubled over the past four decades.  In the past several years, major seafood retailers in developed countries have committed to source their seafood from only sustainably certified fisheries and aquaculture, even though it is not clear where that supply will come from.
