September 17 - Tiger Poacher and Trader Arrested by Indonesian Police and Forest Rangers in the Leuser Landscape, Indonesia
The Aceh Tenggara District Police (Polres Aceh Tenggara), the Gunung Leuser National Park (GLNP) rangers, and the Wildlife Conservation Society’s (WCS’s) Wildlife Crimes Unit (WCU) announced today the arrest of a wildlife poacher and a trader for trading body parts of a Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae).  The arrest occurred in Kutacane, Aceh on September 9, 2015, and was led by Second Police Inspector (Ipda) Bustani, four policemen and two GLNP forest rangers. Hundreds attend Sip for the Sea to benefit WCS's New York Aquarium
Sept. 16, 2015 Eighteen of New York City's best chefs paired their food with great wine from the Jekel Vineyards at Sip for the Sea 2015 to benefit the WCS’s New York Aquarium. Hundreds attended the event, which raised awareness about the importance of sustainable seafood.  All proceeds will support the New York Aquarium and WCS’s commitment to marine conservation locally and around the world.

Harvest Festival at WCS’s Bronx Zoo to Mark the Beginning of Autumn
Bronx, NY – Sept. 9, 2015 – The WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Bronx Zoo is gearing up for the fall season with a Harvest Festival that celebrates nature with classic fall food and entertainment. Activities will be free with admission to the zoo for two weekends in September (Sat. – Tues., Sept. 12-15; and Sat. – Sun., Sept. 19, 20).
