Over 150 Asian Giant Softshell Turtles Return to the Wild
June 21, 2017 – WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society), in collaboration with Cambodia’s Fisheries Administration (FiA) and the Turtle Survival Alliance (TSA), released 150 Endangered Asian giant softshell turtle (Pelochelys cantorii) hatchlings  into their natural habitat along the Mekong River.

Pulling Together to Rescue 11 Asian Elephants

March 28, 2017 - The rescue of 11 Asian Elephants (Elephas maximus) from a mud hole inside the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia, on 24th March 2017 avoided a tragedy for wildlife conservation in Cambodia.

Cambodia’s Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary Sells First Carbon Credits

The Royal Government of Cambodia, through a long-running partnership with Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), has sold to Disney the first carbon credits from a climate change mitigation project in Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, which encompasses a total area of 292,690 hectares.

November 12, 2015 - Cambodia, Phnom Penh – WCS, WWF-Cambodia, BirdLife International-Cambodia, Conservation International, Fauna & Flora International, and Wildlife Alliance would like to extend their deepest condolences to the families of Sieng Darong, Forestry Administration ranger and Sab Yoh, police officer, two wildlife rangers who were killed on November 7 in the Preah Vihear Protected Forest during a patrol.

Lesser Adjutant Storks At WCS’s Bronx Zoo Foster Abandoned Egg and Raise Chick As Their Own
Bronx, NY – Aug. 13, 2015 – A pair of lesser adjutant storks (Leptoptilos javanicus) at WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Bronx Zoo have successfully hatched two chicks – one of which was from an egg produced by another adult pair. The surrogate parents are caring for both chicks as if they were their own.

July 13th - One of World’s Rarest Turtles Heading Back to the Wild
WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society) and the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Fisheries Administration announced today that 21 captive-raised southern river terrapins have been released back into their native habitat in southwest Cambodia. More than 150 villagers, government representatives, and religious leaders attended ceremonies for the release.
