Forest conservation depends on multiple factors, including adequate living conditions and sustainable economic development opportunities for the communities living in and around the forests. The analysis of each alternative included the exploration of multiple dimensions, such as its compatibility with the environment, community preferences, market opportunities, and its main strengths and threats, among others. For those products with the greatest potential, a more thorough exploration of the characteristics of their local markets and chains was carried out. These findings will enable decision-makers to take advantage of opportunities, strengthen current conditions and better prepare for potential challenges they may face.
