The conservation impact team is the research and knowledge team at WCS Cambodia. We work closely with the program teams, communities, government, partner organizations, and universities to conduct innovative interdisciplinary research that informs program design and implementation. Broadly, our work seeks to better understand the challenges faced by conservation programs and the impacts of program activities.
The team’s research addresses significant themes in WCS’s programs, including:
- Recognition of and upholding Indigenous rights and knowledge in conservation
- Agrarian change and development of sustainable commodities at the forest frontier
- Designing and evaluating benefit sharing mechanisms.
We have ongoing and recent collaborations with the University of Oxford (UK), Monash University (Australia), the Royal University of Agriculture (Cambodia), the University of British Columbia (Canada), the National University of Singapore, and others. If you have an idea for a collaboration or are interested in our landscapes and programs, please get in touch!
