The GIS team provides the maps and spatial data that guide every aspect of WCS Cambodia’s work. From protected area boundaries to community zones and conservation areas, their work ensures accurate and accessible information across a landscape filled with overlapping priorities. In places like Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, where conservation zones, Indigenous land claims, and agricultural areas converge, the GIS team helps make sense of it all.
Their tools include shapefiles, interactive maps, and visual data that support land-use planning, law enforcement, and conservation efforts. Real-time inputs from SMART monitoring allow teams to track deforestation, illegal activities, and habitat changes. The GIS team connects these moving parts for our conservation and community teams.
