WCS-Supported Marine Protected Areas in Kenya and Cuba Awarded Blue Park Status

Two WCS-supported Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) – Cuba’s Parque Nacional Jardines de la Reina (Gardens of the Queen) and Kisite Mpunguti Marine National Park in Kenya – have been designated as Blue Parks, a prestigious recognition for their global importance, as well as the exceptional quality of the science-based conservation and management standards in place to protect them.

Biodiversity Research Institute Announces Publication of New Scientific Paper on the Benefits of Savanna Fire Management in Africa

A First for the Bronx! 6 Komodo Dragons Hatch at Bronx Zoo
Bronx, NY – December 9, 2021 – Six Komodo dragons (Varanus komodoensis) have hatched at the Bronx Zoo, the first time this species has successfully bred in the 122-year history of the zoo.
