In comments submitted to the U.S. Department of the Interior and U.S. Department of Commerce, WCS expressed its opposition to the Administration’s proposed changes to Endangered Species Act regulations that would undermine the core goals of the ESA, as articulated by Congress.

Today, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and National Marine Fisheries Service announced new proposed regulations weakening the Endangered Species Act’s ability to protect threatened and endangered species from extinction.

WASHINGTON (October 5, 2017) – New harmful efforts in the U.S. House of Representatives would greatly diminish the Endangered Species Act, spelling disaster for many species.
