Penguin Awareness Day: Penguin-Cam is Back!

Just in time for Penguin Awareness Day on Friday, January 20th, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) has released underwater footage taken by Magellanic penguins equipped with cameras. The footage shows the penguins zipping through coastal waters of Argentina in Tierra del Fuego Province.

DNA Assessment of Southern Humpback Whales Finds That Loyalty to Calving Grounds Drives Population Differences
July 6, 2017 – Scientists conducting the first circum-global assessment of mitochondrial DNA variation in the Southern Hemisphere’s humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) have found that whales faithfully returning to calving grounds year after year play a major role in how populations form, according to WCS (Wildlife Conservation Society), the American Museum of Natural History, and a number of other contributing organizations.

Puerto Madryn, Argentina (November 4, 2016)—The Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network (WFEN) and WCS-Argentina are pleased to announce traceable Certified Wildlife Friendly® wool—part of the “Patagonian Fibers with a Conscience” program—from the "Merino de Peninsula Valdés” ranchers who raise wool in coexistence with wildlife on Peninsula Valdés. The traceable certified wool is now available for purchase through a new online portal.
