WCS holiday toy drive continues through December 31

Bronx, N.Y. – Dec. 4, 2014 –
Animals at WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Prospect Park Zoo and Queens Zoo will receive treats hidden inside holiday-themed enrichment items each weekend in December during the annual Presents to the Animals.

Weekends in December:
Dec. 6/7: dingoes-11 a.m.; Pallas’ cats -2:30 p.m.
Dec. 13/14: North American river otters-11 a.m.; dwarf mongoose-2:30 p.m.
Dec. 20/21: Hamadryas baboons-11 a.m.; meerkats-2:30 p.m.
Dec. 27/28: Hamadryas baboons-11 a.m.; Geoffrey marmosets-2:30 p.m.

*The schedule at the WCS Queens Zoo is:
Weekends in December:
Dec. 6/7, 13/14, 20/21: Puma-1 p.m.; mulefoot pigs-2 p.m.; Andean bears-3 p.m.

Continuing another holiday tradition, WCS is collecting toys at all five of its wildlife parks – the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, and New York Aquarium. Toys collected will be donated to families in need within the communities they serve. Those donating an unwrapped toy at the Prospect Park Zoo and New York Aquarium will receive a ticket to the New York Aquarium; those donating at the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, or Queens Zoo will receive a ticket to the Bronx Zoo.
