New York, Dec. 20, 2010- North American river otters Ogie and Dixie rip into their gift to find a special treat inside. Residents of the Wildlife Conservation Society's Prospect Park Zoo have been receiving presents each Saturday and Sunday in December. This weekend, December 25 and 26 at 11:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., it is the Hamadryas baboons and meerkats that will have the chance to tear into their holiday gifts. Presents for the Animals is a form of enrichment. WCS's Prospect Park Zoo provides this and other types of mental and physical stimulation to keep the animals’ minds and bodies healthy and active.
