Media Preview Monday April 4, 1:00 p.m.
New York – March 29, 2011- The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Central Park Zoo invites members of the media and their families to a special preview of the new 4-D theater experience from SimEx-Iwerks on Monday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. The new attraction featuring the world premier of the original film Planet Earth: Ice Worlds from BBC Earth will open to the public for the first time on Saturday, April 2, 2011. For members of the media unable to attend, up to four tickets may be reserved for use before April 18, 2011. The seasonal advance and retreat of polar ice produces some of the greatest physical challenges to wildlife anywhere world – shaping the lives and testing the survival skills of wildlife. Planet Earth: Ice Worlds transports viewers to a frigid, danger-filled world with in-theater effects that bring the powerful story to life. The new Central Park Zoo 4-D Theater combines the visual drama of a 3-D film with a variety of sensory effects that are built into the seats and theater environment, such as water mist, blustery wind, snow, bubbles, scents, seat vibrations, and more.
