A major new $20 million, four-year grant from Arcadia—a charitable fund of Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin—will powerfully advance the Wildlife Conservation Society’s (WCS) efforts to save Earth’s most biodiverse protected but vulnerable wilderness areas.

At COP25, for the first time, the eight countries of Central America presented their regional climate action plan, which commits to protect Mesoamerica’s five great forests as part of the natural solution to the climate crisis. This ambitious initiative aims to bring together the agricultural and environmental sectors to restore and conserve 10 million hectares of forests and degraded land by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality in the agricultural and forest sector by 2040.

The Student Government Association at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, a Governor’s school located in Alexandria, Virginia, has donated $12,500 to the Wildlife Conservation Society. 

A group of 5th grade students from the Speyer Legacy School on the Upper West Side formed a club to help make an impact on wildlife conservation. Their “Save the Wildlife Club” hosted a bake sale to raise money for their mission.
