MIST patrol results show that law enforcement effort remains high in the Core Areas of the Tonle Sap Biosphere Reserve. Ranger teams recorded a total of 252 MIST patrol days in the Prek Toal Core Area during 2009. During these patrols, large numbers of breeding and non-breeding large waterbirds were also observed, including Asian Openbills, Greater Adjutants, Grey headed Fishing Eagles, Cormorants, Lesser Adjutants, Painted Storks, and Spot-billed Pelicans. Just over 50 incidents of illegal activities were recorded and followed up.
Ranger teams recorded a total of 141 MIST patrol days during in the Stung Sen over the same period, as well as illegal activities such as logging, land encroachment, fishing and hunting. 274 MIST patrol days were recorded in the Boeung Tonle Chhmar Core Area.
