 Research Assistants for NERC Project

 

Background:

The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. WCS's goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the world's biodiversity. We currently manage about 500 conservation projects in more than 60 countries. 

WCS has been working in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia since 1999, providing technical advice and support for the conservation of key habitats and species across the country.

WCS is now seeking applications from qualified Cambodian candidates to fill the following position. Detailed job description of the position is attached.

·     Duty Station: Keo Seima Field Station, Mondulkiri Province, Cambodia

·     Fixed-term contract: (3 months)

·     Starting date: 8th February to 1st May 2018 (with possibility for slight extension)

·     Salary: $375 per month, plus daily per diem allowance. In addition, accommodation and travel to and from the field will also be covered.

Essential Requirements:

·     Fluent and literate in English, Khmer

·     Understanding and ability to speak Bunong desirable

·     Experience conducting household questionnaires

·     Able to use computers and tablets

·     Must pay good attention to detail.

·     Experience working with foreigners.

·     Must be able to ride a motorbike in challenging off-road conditions

·     Must be enthusiastic, open-minded and willing to learn
