Counter Wildlife Trafficking Specialist

The Wildlife Conservation Society, founded in 1895, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. WCS's goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the world's biodiversity. We currently manage about 500 conservation projects in more than 60 countries.

WCS has been working in partnership with the Royal Government of Cambodia since 1999, providing technical advice and support for the conservation of key habitats and species across the country.

WCS is now seeking applications from qualified Cambodian candidates to fill the following positions. Detailed job description of the position is attached.

  • Duty Station: Phnom Penh
  • Net Salary Range: $1200-$1700

Required skills and experience:

  • Good coordination, communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience of working with government, especially the Judicial sector
  • Familiarity with Cambodian laws and legal system
  • Background in providing and organizing workshops and trainings
  • Experience working for NGOs or development agencies desired, particularly in initiatives to prevent trafficking in wildlife or trafficking in persons
  • Excellent Khmer and English skills, including spoken, written, reading and listening
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and familiarity with databases and data analysis
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required by the work
  • Fundraising experience desirable
