Some of the world’s most sacred and spectacular lands unfold across the sovereign Navajo Nation – an area nearly the size of Maine encompassing parts of Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico.
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) released an amazing video showing tens of thousands of Giant South American River turtle hatchlings (Podocnemis expansa) emerging from a sandy beach in a protected area along the Purus River – a tributary of the Amazon River in Brazil.
WCS Ecuador, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Water of Ecuador (MAAE), published the "Manual for the implementation of a tool to strengthen the control and surveillance in Protected Areas," which will be distributed among the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP) personnel.
A team of conservationists say that in order for the public to help bats, they need to be perceived as less scary.
