WCS’s Queens Zoo Holds Annual Eggstravaganza Event

Eggstravaganza at the Queens Zoo: Saturday & Sunday, April 4 & 5

Activities include the zoo’s famous egg hunt, egg decorating, and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny

The zoo is home to the largest breed of rabbit: The Flemish giant

Flushing, N.Y.  –  April 1, 2015 – The WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Queens Zoo will celebrate spring throughout Eggstravaganza weekend, Saturday & Sunday, April 4 & 5, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

 Activities include:

 Egg Hunt – The zoo’s popular Egg Hunt will take place on the farm, where goats, sheep, horses, and Flemish giant rabbits live. Flemish giants are the largest breed of rabbit. They can reach up to 25 pounds. (Egg Hunt is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., while supplies last.)

Egg Decorating – Eggs found from the hunt will be decorated on the farm. (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

Easter Bunny Photo OppCandy station and Easter Bunny photo opportunities will be on the lawn by the administration building (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Line for the photo opps will close at 3 p.m.)

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Queens Zoo – Open every day of the year. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids 3-12, free for children under 3. Zoo hours are 10am to 5pm weekdays, and 10am – 5:30pm weekends, April through October, and 10am – 4:30pm daily, November through April.
