Volunteers educate visitors about wildlife, give tours, and help with public eventsFlushing, N.Y. – March 18, 2015 – WCS’s (Wildlife Conservation Society) Queens Zoo is accepting applications for its volunteer program. Program participants will help teach visitors about wildlife. They will give guided tours, assist with special programs and events, provide narration at animal exhibits, and lead arts and crafts activities. Training is on the Saturdays of March 28, and April 11 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, available for all three training days, and able to commit at least four hours each week. Admission is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors 65 and older, $5 for kids 3-12, free for children under 3. Zoo hours are 10am to 5pm weekdays, and 10am – 5:30pm weekends, April through October, and 10am – 4:30pm daily, November through April.
