Indonesian Mountain Weasel


Indonesian mountain weasel was recorded on February 15, 2013, in Leuser Ecosystem Area through camera trapping activity by Gunung Leuser National Park and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Indonesia.
This animal’s height is around 45 cm with variety of fur color, from dark brown to grey. Mountain weasel is restricted at high altitudes above 1,400 m asl.

Its threats cannot be meaningfully assessed so it is categorized on The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as Data Deficient until further study allows an informed judgment.
