Karnataka: Elephant Task Forces formed in Kodagu to address man-animal conflict | New Indian Express
To address the issue of wild elephant conflict, Karnataka has formed Elephant Task Forces in four affected areas – Madikeri, Virajpet, Somwarpet, and Thithimathi. The task force aims to scientifically tackle the increased movement of wild elephants. The forest department officials, along with forest guards, forest watchers, and a Rapid Response Team make up the task force.

In view of the Bullet Train project in Mumbai, the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MOEFCC) are preparing a mitigation plan for the Thane Creek Flamingo Society. The intertidal mudflats in Thane Creek provide essential feeding grounds for nearly a quarter of a million migratory birds every winter. A study will be carried out by the Mangrove Foundation and the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) to understand the movement pattern and habitat use by birds.

Dolphin Census Begins In Odisha, Over 100 Wildlife Experts Part Of Exercise | NDTV
The annual census of dolphins began in Odisha’s Bhitarkanika National Park and Gahirmatha Marine Sanctuary, with over 100 wildlife experts participating. The Odisha coast is an ideal habitat for dolphins, with a rise of 33 per cent in their population. A total of 726 dolphins of six species were sighter during the last season.
