A recently published online bird migration atlas draws data from a vast amount of scientific and community sources to illustrate the routes of about 450 bird species in the Americas, including warblers. This first-of-its-kind site will host hundreds of GPS and bird-banding data and community science observations. The site enables a user to enter a species and watch its movement's course over time.

Ecotourism: New tiger reserve to be opened for visitors in western UP | The New Indian Express
Amangarh Tiger Reserve, in western UP, will be opened up for visitors for the first time. This decision came to light in a move to promote tourism from wildlife enthusiasts living in Delhi, and NCR since this reserve is a closer alternative to the Corbett National Park. According to the CCF, this will also provide employment opportunities for local residents, who will be trained and employed as tourist guides.

Champhai district in Mizoram is now a hotspot for wildlife trafficking in India | Mongabay
Since last year, amid political changes in Myanmar, the number of wildlife smuggling incidents from Myanmar to India has increased. 468 species of exotic wildlife, including a wild cat, tortoises, and beavers, were seized from the check gate in Champhai on May 25th. Aizawl Zoo in Mizoram has reported that they are hosting an overwhelming number of rescued animals as there are no clear rehabilitation solutions yet.

Eight new-to-science geckos described from biodiversity haven Madagascar | Mongabay
Scientists have described eight new species of thumb-sized geckos from Madagascar. For decades, they were considered part of a single group; however, DNA studies have concluded that they are separate species. In three decades, scientists have described almost 150 species on the island. Madagascar's ecosystems are threatened, and we may not be identifying species fast enough to know what we are losing.

Sea cucumbers most frequently trafficked marine species in India between 2015 and 2021: Analysis | Down to Earth
A new report by WCS-India analysed online newspaper articles and showed that sea cucumbers were India's most frequently trafficked marine species between 2015 and 2021. The report also shows that Tamil Nadu recorded the highest enforcement efforts, followed by Maharashtra, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. The report also shows that sea fans, and sea horses and pipefishes were also commonly traded.

For safekeeping: JNPA hands over 814 ha of mangroves to forest dept | The Hindustan Times
The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) handed over 814 hectares of mangrove land on its property to the Maharashtra state forest department for safekeeping and conservation. In 2004 and 2008, the Bombay HC instructed all government agencies to hand over mangrove lands for protection. Of the 884 hectares of mangrove in JNPA, 814 will be protected, and 70 will be used for development projects.
