June 20, 2019: WCS-India in association with the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change organised a workshop on combating wildlife trafficking for frontline staff at Dimapur, Nagaland. The workshop was inaugurated by Hon. Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Nagaland Mr C M Chang. Other dignitaries included PCCF and HoFF Mr. S R Tripathi, IFS, PCCF and CWLW Mr. Aima, IFS, and Ms. Bano Haralu, WCS.
The one day workshop had forest staff from Kiphire, Peren, and Dimapur who were introduced to topics like wildlife trafficking, Wild Life (Protection) Act, and basics of wildlife crime investigation. Sahila Kudalkar, Program Manager, Counter Wildlife Trafficking (CWT), Mridula Vijairaghavan, Legal Advisor, along with Pooja Pawar and Aditi Rajan from the CWT team of WCS-India led the various sessions of the workshop.
