Pooja Pawar, a postgraduate of the Wildlife Biology & Conservation program at the Wildlife Conservation Society-India and National Centre for Biological Sciences. She is the recipient of the 2018 - Late Wing. Cdr C.M. Chaoji (Retd.) award for Young Woman Ornithologist.
She has been studying hornbill ecology in the Anamalai Hills with the inclination towards conservation of hornbills outside protected areas. Her work has spanned across rainforests of Kerala and Tamil Nadu and this young lady is also a member of IUCN Hornbill Specialist Group.
