The WCS-India team led by Country Director Prakriti Srivastava, IFS met with Mr. Suresh Kumar, Commandant (Training and Establishment), Border Security Force, Guwahati along with the rest of the Combating Wildlife Trafficking team members Ms. Sahila Kudalkar and Mr. Arijit Ghosh. Mr. Kumar and Ms. Srivastava discussed ways to build capacity by training BSF personnel to detect wildlife crime and identify commonly trafficked wildlife species, parts and products.
WCS-India plans to take the BSF-WCS India MoU forward through training BSF personnel, and a "Training the Trainers' approach" in BSF training schools. The MoU marks the beginning of what the organisation sees as a strong partnership with BSF Guwahati Frontier to combat wildlife trafficking.
