DESCRIPTION:

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Solomon Islands is implementing the coral reef rescue initiative in the Solomon Islands. The WCS invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing consultancy services to develop a National Communication and Engagement Strategy for Coral Reef Conservation in Solomon Islands

Within the GEF CRR Project, the consultant will conduct consultations, data collection, provide a framework for the National Communication and Engagement Strategy and provide recommendations for WCS SI and stakeholders to strengthen decision-making and policy development at community, provincial and national level.

Interested consultants must provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications, relevant experience to perform the required task and provide a financial proposal to deliver the deliverables. Note, provision for cost related to workshops, meetings and travelling will be met by WCS pending approval from CRR Project Management Unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

The consultant should demonstrate the skills and expertise listed:
Minimum: Post Graduate qualification in Journalism, communication, media studies, public relations, or related studies.
 

Essential experience and knowledge

  • Has engaged in similar assignments in the past including undertaking stakeholder mapping, evaluation of communication and engagement strategy and developing clear and simple messaging forms to build local capacity.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and sound professional and ethical standards to effectively engage with stakeholders.
  • Can work under pressure to perform other required tasks in a limited timeframe.
