Buuveibaatar Bayarbaatar
Senior Scientist
Buuveibaatar Bayarbaatar is a Senior Scientist of WCS Mongolia program. He graduate of the National University of Mongolia where he majored in biology and completed a Masters course in Zoology within the Department of Zoology. He came to the Mongolia Program in 2011 after spending 5 years working as a researcher for the Institute of Biology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences where he studied large ungulates such as Mongolian gazelles and saiga antelope. Between 2009 and 2011, he completed his second master’s degree in the Department of Environmental Conservation, University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMASS). Currently, he is a PhD candidate at the same program in UMASS Amherst and his study (dissertation) focuses on the distribution and dynamics of saiga antelope in western Mongolia. His research interests include wildlife biology, spatial ecology, and conservation biology.
Gerelee Puntsag
Land management and policy expert
Gerlee Puntsag is a land management and policy expert at the WCS Mongolia program. She holds master's degrees in Urban planning from Chung-Ang University, South Korea, and in Land management, administration from the National University of Mongolia. She has over a decade of experience in policy, planning, and sustainable landscape management at the Agency for Land Administration, Geodesy, and Cartography (ALAMGaC), and the GEF funded “Dryland Sustainable Landscapes and Biodiversity Conservation in Eastern Mongolia” project.
Khash-Erdene Bayarsaikhan
Communications and Partnership Officer
Khash-Erdene Bayarsaikhan is a Communications and Partnership Officer at WCS Mongolia program. Over a decade of experience in communications and journalism has equipped Khash-Erdene Bayarsaikhan with a sharp understanding of crafting impactful narratives. His career has spanned media outlets, international organizations, and NGOs, where he has championed critical social issues like human rights, sustainable development, and children's well-being. An adept communicator across cultures and languages, Khash-Erdene has demonstrably increased visibility and garnered support for various causes. His leadership in managing communications strategies and content creation has yielded success in media outreach, advocacy, and public awareness. Khash-Erdene holds a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism.
Maral-Erdene Ganselem
Project and Finance Assistant
Maral-Erdene Ganselem is a development and operations professional with over a decade of experience in procurement, logistics and operation management. She has worked with ADRA Mongolia, People in Need (PIN), UNDP Mongolia, and ADB-supported projects, supporting humanitarian response, climate resilience, and community-based initiatives. She has led procurement and logistics operations in compliance with donor regulations, coordinated emergency responses, and strengthened institutional systems to ensure transparency and efficiency. Maral-Erdene holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in French Studies.
Myagmarsuren Amarbat
Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management Expert
Myagmarsuren Amarbat is a Monitoring, Evaluation and Knowledge Management Expert at WCS Mongolia program. She have more than 17 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of multi-sectoral development programs. She has focused on developing participatory M&E systems and supporting initiatives in social development, gender equality, health, education, employment, and public financial management. She brings practical skills in both qualitative and quantitative research and continue to learn and apply evidence-based approaches. She values inclusivity, collaboration, and ethical practice, and she strives to contribute to sustainable and meaningful outcomes for communities.
Narangerel Naranpurev
Community Engagement Coordinator
Narangerel Naranpurev is a Community Engagement Coordinator at WCS Mongolia program. She is conservationist over 10 years' experience in Mongolia, specializing in natural resource management, community-based conservation, and ecological restoration. Her expertise includes endangered species protection (particularly Przewalski's horse), and she's worked with The Nature Conservancy, Zorig Foundation and Hustai National Park on various projects, including research and conservation planning. She holds a Master's in Environmental Science and a Bachelor's in Ecological Science, and is a graduate of the US State Department's Professional Fellows Program and serves as a regional leader for the Conservation Coaches Network.
Sarantuya Dolgorsuren
Camp Caretaker
Sarantuya is a Camp Caretaker at WCS Mongolia program, living in Dornogovi Aimag, Khatanbulag Soum. Alongside her work as a Camp Caretaker, she is also a herder, managing her livestock. Sarantuya graduated from secondary school in Khatanbulag Soum and has strong ties to her local community.
Tsend-Ayush Perenlei
Driver
Tsend-Ayush Perenlei is a Driver for the WCS Mongolia program. He graduated from the Extractive Industry College in Erdenet city. With over 25 years of experience as a driver throughout Mongolia, he has extensive knowledge of the country's roads and regions. Most recently, he worked for Mercy Corps from 2003 to 2012, where he gained valuable experience in transportation and logistics.
Tsengun Gantumur
Community Engagement Facilitator
Tsengun Gantumur is a Community Engagement Facilitator at WCS Mongolia program. She completed her M.Sc. in Ecology at the National University of Mongolia (NUM). Subsequently, she joined the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, where she worked as a Researcher at the Botanical Garden Institute in the Vegetation Ecology and Economy Laboratory. Her research primarily focused on long-term monitoring of vegetation in dry grasslands. During her bachelor's studies, she specialized in pasture ecology, and her master's research centered on snow leopard population ecology.
Tserennadmid Sonor
Conservation Governance Coordinator
Tserennadmid Sonor is a Conservation Governance Coordinator at WCS Mongolia. She is with 10 years of academic experience in ecology and environmental and socio-economic assessment, she brings a strong foundation in sustainability and environmental studies. Additionally, she has 5 years of executive experience in business management. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from the National University of Mongolia, a Master of Science in Ecological Economics from the University of Edinburgh and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Finance and Economics of Mongolia.
