Project Name : Counter Wildlife Trafficking (CWT)

We work in partnership with governmental and non-governmental organisations to deal with conservation challenges such as human-wildlife interaction, voluntary relocation of people from protected forest areas, combating wildlife trafficking, conservation of endangered species and so on. About the Project: The Counter Marine Wildlife Trafficking project aims to work with detection and enforcement agencies to build capacity to investigate, arrest, prosecute, convict and sentence criminal organizations that perpetrate wildlife trafficking of marine species.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:
- Post graduate degree, preferably a Master’s Degree in Wildlife Sciences, Marine Biology, Conservation Biology or allied sciences with relevant experience in project management.
- Excellent communication skills, fluency in English and general knowledge of Indian coastal language(s).
- Experience in liaising with enforcement agencies and/or local communities and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and to collaborate effectively as a member of a team.
- Knowledge of handling, analysing and visualizing data using GIS and basic data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, R, SPSS etc.
- Highly motivated with good understanding of the various issues and policies related to conservation and management of marine biodiversity.
- Experience in conducting outreach programs and workshops for relevant stakeholders is desirable.
- A willingness to travel alone as and when required.
Job responsibilities:
- Assuming responsibility for activity planning and implementation for relevant project deliverables.
- Collecting and analysing data for field project and providing inputs on the planning and execution of project activities.
- Manage information on illegal activities/trade obtained from informant networks and reports.
- Development of training and capacity building material in coordination with team members and other staff.
- Contribute to the development and preparation proposals/reports while supporting existing proposals.
- Organize meetings, workshops and trainings relevant to the project.
- Aiding in the development and delivery of awareness/capacity building presentations to government agencies and any other enforcement authorities.
- Undertake any other administrative tasks as assigned by the Program Manager.
Remuneration: Commensurate with experience
