Abstract
This site assessment of Ugtam NR focused on inventorying wildlife (generating species lists and gathering presence/absence data) and to some extent plants, characterizing and identifying habitat types, conducting some focused survey effort, gathering density data in portions of the park, interviewing the local community herder group, and assessing impacts to the park. In addition, we compared our species lists (mostly birds and mammals) with those Ugtam Site Assessment 2007 collected during earlier efforts. We detected species that had not been detected previously, did not observe certain species that we had expected to, and conducted other useful comparisons to assess the health of the wildlife in the park.
