LLP Bulletins

Too often when conservation NGOs and development agencies embark on a new initiative, little thought is given to systematically capturing the ideas that evolved, the successes and failures, and the lessons learned, through the life of the program.

The WCS Living Landscapes publications are designed to fill this gap. Unlike formal evaluations and annual reports, manuals and bulletins are meant for field staff.  The publications help project teams to plan their activities strategically and monitor their performance, threat levels and conservation targets. Unlike scientific papers, the manuals are written as guidelines with simple, step-by-step instructions for the practitioners, not academics.

Living Landscape publications will always be brief, will focus on conceptual and practical issues, and will be terminated when they are no longer considered valuable to WCS and its partners.

We have produced the following bulletins:

Vedder, A., D. Wilkie, and the Living Landscapes Program.  2001.  An innovative concept for 21st century conservation.  Bulletin 1, Wildlife Conservation Society, Living Landscapes Program, Bronx, NY.
